Time by Doxter S on Apple Music

Time by Doxter S on Apple Music

Time by Doxter S brings forth the traditional lyricism and melodic richness that are often missing in today’s contemporary music, one of 73 original songs available for streaming on Spotify and Apple Music.

Time by Doxter S is about not having enough, how we each experience time differently and, in the case of this duet, fundamental differences between a man and a woman. As the song progresses there is a surprise reversal acknowledging it may be Time for a change.

The melody includes a verse, chorus, then a duet that combines the verse and chorus sung synchronously. The male lead goes first with the verse, the female lead sings the chorus, then both sing together for the duet. The melody repeats a 2nd round, this time the female lead singing the verse, the male singing the chorus, then both combining for a 2nd duet. The concept is for a role reversal as the song evolves.

Lyrics

New dawn is breaking I must be waking Your leave I'm taking Darling it's time
Please go on sleeping our bed be keeping Warm and inviting till the next time

I wish you could stay let's enjoy the day Please come back to lay beside and hold me
Whisper in my ear words I long to hear Say you'll always be here by my side

New dawn is breaking I must be waking Your leave I'm taking Darling it's time
Please go on sleeping our bed be keeping Warm and inviting till the next time

I wish you could stay let's enjoy the day Please come back to lay beside and hold me
Whisper in my ear words I long to hear Say you'll always be here by my side

Perfect by Doxter S combines the complex and poignant emotions of romantic relationships with memorable melodies with heartfelt lyrics into a most enjoyable feast for the ears. Doxter S has a proven track record of creating beautifully emotional popular music that is helping to define the sensibilities of the social fabric that makes us who we are today. The song depicts loneliness and longing, sung by a female lead, reminiscing about a past romantic interest. The situation is fluid and uncertain, possibly substituting one past relationship with a current one. The only certainty seems to be an emptiness:

Wishing he was coming home soon. Been so lonely in their bedroom. When he’s finally home to stay, that would be a perfect day.

They were lovers for an instant, now they seem to be so distant. Why he had to go away. Waiting for a perfect day.

All alone again as sunset. Filling up her heart with regret. If her heart could fly away, that would be a perfect day.

Diva by Doxter S on Apple Music

Diva by Doxter S on Apple Music

Diva by Doxter S, an upbeat Hip Hop song, is entering new music territory. Doxter S created this original Hip Hop song, inspired by Piccolo Walzer, after making the following statement to a fellow musician: “Never argue with a Soprano”. Diva by Doxter S is one of 73 original songs available for streaming on Spotify and Apple Music.

Piccolo Valzer (little waltz) was the original title for Giacomo Puccini’s Musetta’s Waltz. More popularly known today as Quando m’en vo’ soletta, it may be the most memorable music from Pucciin’s 19th century opera La Bohème. So what is the connection with Diva by Doxter S? It turns out the word Soprano isn’t easy to use in the lyrics. So the original inspiration was transformed into  “Never argue with a Diva”, and the theme from the operatic song is carried into the story line. The style transformed to Hip Hop.

Starting with a simple piano rendition of Piccolo Valzer, the piano is next backed by a synthesizer and the all male chorus sings Diva Aria Mine”. The verse, spoken by Doxter S, is backed by the Soprano voice haunting off stage:

Anything can happen when you’re walking with a Diva
Everybody gawking at her like the Queen of Sheba
Listen to these words of mine, I said from the beginning
Never argue with a Diva, ain’t no way of winning
Diva has a lovely voice, You think it comes from Heaven
Diva’s had a vocal coach since she was six or seven
When she sings she smiles and makes you feel you’re not a stranger
Listen to these words of mine, this Diva is no Angel

Then Diva sings her first solo:

When I’m walking alone
When everybody looks at me
They smile at me adoringly
Men are mine to command
And I have them all eating,
yes they are all eating out of my hand

Dr. Dreamy by Doxter S on Apple Music

Insomnia is a terrible thing to waste. I really did wake up from a dream and wrote this song from start to finish in one day. This is one of a compilation of songs going into my new EP for this year entitled Doxter S: Voices if Reason. The style of each new song is completely different from the others, as are the vocalists on each recording. Dr. Dreamy by Doxter S is one of 73 original songs available for streaming on Spotify and Apple Music.

Lyrics

I WOKE UP FROM A DREAM LAST NIGHT A VISION IN MY HEAD
A WOMAN'S FACE I COULD NOT PLACE I LAY AWAKE IN BED
HER HAIR WAS GOLD HER EYES WERE BROWN HER LIPS WERE CHERRY RED
AND ON HER FACE THERE WAS A SMILE AS SHE LAY IN MY BED

I KNOW EVERYTHING'S GOING TO TURN OUT ALRIGHT JUST TRYING TO BELIEVE
YOU KNOW I WILL BE WAITING FOR YOU AT NIGHT YOU ARE THE GIRL OF MY DREAMS

SHE WHISPERED SOMETHING IN MY EAR AT LEAST I THINK SHE SPOKE
HER WORDS TOO SOFT FOR ME TO HEAR AND THAT'S WHEN I AWOKE
I COULD NOT SLEEP ANOTHER WINK I LAY AWAKE IN BED
I TRIED TO SEE HER LOVELY FACE REMEMBER WHAT SHE SAID

I KNOW EVERYTHING'S GOING TO TURN OUT ALRIGHT JUST TRYING TO BELIEVE
YOU KNOW I WILL BE WAITING FOR YOU AT NIGHT YOU ARE THE GIRL OF MY DREAMS

I LAY IN BED ALONE LAST NIGHT JUST CONTEMPLATING LIFE
I KNEW THE WOMAN IN MY DREAM WAS JUST MY LOVELY WIFE
SHE'S BEEN GONE AWAY FROM HOME FOR QUITE A WHILE IT SEEMS
THAT'S WHY I ONLY SEE HER FACE AT NIGHTTIME IN MY DREAMS

I KNOW EVERYTHING'S GOING TO TURN OUT ALRIGHT JUST TRYING TO BELIEVE
YOU KNOW I WILL BE WAITING FOR YOU AT NIGHT YOU ARE THE GIRL OF MY DREAMS

I DREAM TO SEE HER FACE AT NIGHT AND HEAR HER WHISPER TOO
TO HEAR THE WORDS FROM HER SWEET LIPS HER WORDS WERE "I LOVE YOU"
I WED THE WOMAN OF MY DREAMS MY LOVE FOR HER IS DEEP
NOW THAT MY DREAMS HAVE ALL COME TRUE I FINALLY CAN SLEEP

I KNOW EVERYTHING'S GOING TO TURN OUT ALRIGHT JUST TRYING TO BELIEVE
YOU KNOW I WILL BE WAITING FOR YOU AT NIGHT YOU ARE THE GIRL OF MY DREAMS

Nervous by Doxter S on Apple Music

Nervous by Doxter S on Apple Music

Nervous by Doxter S is one of 73 original songs produced at Crimson Studios. This pop style song could be sung acapella, however this production includes percussion, strings, and piano. There is asymmetry between the sequential verses and there is a substantial pre chorus. The instrumental backing for the chorus is minimal, as the lead and harmony together provide an orchestral presence. The chorus has a lively percussion accompaniment.
The story line of Nervous by Doxter S portrays a woman uncertain about her lover and their future together. She makes a reference that they are acting like spies. As is true for many other songs from Doxter S there is some gender ambiguity as we don’t really know who this song is for. For that matter, this song started out intended for a male lead, however it transformed into the female lead version presented here.

You make me nervous
You make me nervous
Keep your emotions hidden well
Under the surface
You get me rattled
Tongue tied and tattered
Then you just walk away like
None of it mattered
I feel like I’ve lost control
I’m stuck at the starting gate
Asking for help I say to myself
“Don’t hesitate, it’s getting late”
I’m running on your command
In search of some happiness
Wasting away, I spend every day
You know just which buttons to press
Life keeps on changing
My thoughts rearranging
I need some restraining
My feet on the ground
Nothing is certain
I draw back the curtain
Revealing the hurt and
The peace I have found
You keep on trying
To get me smiling
I haven’t smiled in many years
There’s no denying
You makes me crazy
Everything’s hazy
I should have left by now but
I’ve gotten lazy
I’ve lost my identity
I have nothing left to steal
Acting like spies I look in your eyes
Trying to feel anything real
I’m now starting to believe
My life is about to change
What should I do, I’m thinking it through
Things to arrange, Feeling so strange

for some new sweet thing that you think you've found
But your selection by nature was bound

I’m not that person that you're speaking of
But if you wait for me I'll be your love

Stay by Doxter S on Apple Music

Stay by Doxter S on Apple Music

Stay by Doxter S is one of 73 original song written by Doxter S and produced at Crimson Studios in McLean, Virginia. Now available for streaming on Apple Music.

This beautiful love song in G-Major can be performed by either female or male lead. A piano provides the foundation. The cello and contrabass alternate legato and pizzicato. There is syncopation between the instrument voices.

The instrumental intro, with piano, cello, and contrabass, is happy. The melody for the first and second verse, sung by Sara, is plaintive. Each verse has a tension building bridge. The second verse follows the first bridge immediately. (The original score separated them with a repeat of the intro).

The chorus is commanding, strong, with a positive vibe. The use of the B-Major in a single phrase of the chorus adds unexpected urgency to the lyrics. (This production was transposed to D-Major, so F-Major provides the tension).

The first and second chorus are separated by a vocalized version of the intro melody. This is again upbeat, happy. The second chorus has different lyrics. Following the second chorus is a repeat of the instrumental intro. The song ends with a repeat of the first chorus on a happy note.

Lyrics

You meet me at my garden gate Wonder why I was so late
Had to dry my tears Don't think that I was crying

I know some women can be strong Take whatever comes along
If I spoke like that You'd know that I was lying

We tried to talk about it Always seemed to end with shouting
We can't forgive ourselves for Indecision, always doubting

Your visit comes as no surprise I can see it in your eyes
That you just stopped by to Tell me you are leaving

I knew one day you'd want to go Knew how I would miss you so
I prepared myself but Seeing is believing

We had our share of sorrow Just like modern day romances
I see a new tomorrow I believe in second chances

Stay with me, don't leave please Stay with me
What's in your Heart is all that matters, Baby Can't you see?

Stay with me and hold me Tenderly and
I will smile and dry my tears If you just stay

I believe there are second chances You and me, Modern day romances
People can discover When they love each other

Stay with me, why don't you Stay with me
What is it Out there that would take you far away from me?

Baby we were happy Can't you see, so drop that
Bag and close the door will you just stay

Stay with me, don't leave please Stay with me, what's in your
Heart is all that matters, Baby Can't you see?

Stay with me and hold me Tenderly and
I will smile and dry my tears If you just stay

Mirrors by Doxter S on Apple Music

Doxter S continues creating original songs in popular styles. Doxter S incorporates catchy melodies with heartfelt and moving lyrics, connecting emotionally with each new composition. Doxter S has published 44 songs on CD Baby and iTunes over the last 5 years. Mirrors by Doxter S is is one of 73 original songs available for streaming on Spotify and Apple Music.

“When I look into a mirror, at the face I see, is that really me?” This opening verse is an existential question about our perceptions of our own lives and our place in the universe. “Mirrors” questions who we really are, how we look at ourselves in our past lives, and how we can see ourselves in the future. It was inspired by Einstein’s genius explaining the Space-Time as a single dimension. it happens that a beam of light passes through the mirror’s glass at precisely the angle required to reach the reflection point in the shortest possible time. That must mean that, when we look into a mirror, we only see what we are supposed to see.

Canyons by Doxter S on Apple Music

Canyons by Doxter S on Apple Music

The canyon lands of southwestern United States may be the most beautiful part of this continent. The Grand Canyon, Sedona, and Glen Canyon are in Arizona. Bryce Canyon and Zion Canyon are in Utah. They are visited by millions or tourists from all over the world every year. The ancestors of our Native Americans arrived thousands of years earlier. The Navajo and Hopi residents continue a tradition of devotion and reverence to this wondrous landscape. Canyons by Doxter S captures the spirit of this land and its people in a song based on the Native Flute.
The melody uses a simple pentatonic scale in a minor key. The percussion is a Native Hand Drum. The female vocalist sings sweetly. The lyrics contrast a modern day romance with the centuries old story of the people inhabiting this spectacular place. The Hopi pray and dance for rain. Kokopelli plays his Magic Flute. The singer refers to her lover, once upon a time together hiking, rafting, and camping here. Then the flame went out. It ended much too soon.
Canyons by Doxter S is hopeful but melancholy. There is mystery, wonderment, joy, and sadness. The canyon lands remains as a foundation for continuation and renewal. The song is both spiritual and uplifting. Just listen with your eyes shut and you can see Kokopelli playing to his Hoodoo audience.
