Perfect by Doxter S combines the complex and poignant emotions of romantic relationships with memorable melodies with heartfelt lyrics into a most enjoyable feast for the ears. Doxter S has a proven track record of creating beautifully emotional popular music that is helping to define the sensibilities of the social fabric that makes us who we are today. The song depicts loneliness and longing, sung by a female lead, reminiscing about a past romantic interest. The situation is fluid and uncertain, possibly substituting one past relationship with a current one. The only certainty seems to be an emptiness:

Wishing he was coming home soon. Been so lonely in their bedroom. When he’s finally home to stay, that would be a perfect day.

They were lovers for an instant, now they seem to be so distant. Why he had to go away. Waiting for a perfect day.

All alone again as sunset. Filling up her heart with regret. If her heart could fly away, that would be a perfect day.

Sometimes the inspiration for a song is a person, maybe a place, or a feeling, or perhapse a period in time. Flower Girl by Doxter S is all of these. The place is introduced in the first verse: “There is a town just south of Monterey”. The town has a long history going back centuries. The oldest Spanish Mission in North America is there. There is an artist colony. There was a famous Mayor. The person, “Flower Girl”, has come to this town from far away. Her mind is always far away as well. She may be a person born of a different era with different sensibilities. We learn that “Flower Girl” is “Stuck in a ripple of time” in pursuit of a lover.

“Flower Girl” is musically inclined, as she is depicted “gently strumming her guitar” while she sings to an unidentified man. “Flower Girl” is praying as the Mission Bell tolls when the love of her life finally appears. Suddenly we are taken back in time; as if only a return to this earlier historical period can resolve “Flower Girl’s” longing and desires. The Sea Otters swim an play.

Doxter S is an independent Singer/Songwriter from McLean, Virginia near Washington DC.  Doxter S gets played on independent radio stations all over the world.

Addicted by Doxter S – New Release – April 2018

Addicted by Doxter S is a new release for April 2018. This uptempo song has an electro-island beat and is sung with great passion by a female lead vocalist with backing harmony.  The melody and Hip Hop style beat are very catchy and the lyrics are inspired by popular culture. The mood is very positive. The lyrics are provided below:

Addicted by Doxter S
I’m addicted to you … Ooh … Ooh … Ooh
Tell me why, tell me why I can’t ignore you, be alone at night, be without you
Now I find, I must try to steal away time, always on my mind, you have made me blind
Your laugh your smile I linger a while, your lips and your voice they leave me no choice
I’m trapped by you, can’t you see … That’s what you did to me I’m addicted to
your hands your touch I need them so much I feel I can’t breathe the moment you leave I can’t wean myself from you … there’s nothing I can do
I’m addicted to you … Ooh … Ooh … Ooh
You are like, you are like that magic potion, Number Nine of Love, and emotion
Even now, I know better than to follow, I have lost my will, I must have my fill
Your clothes your smell I’m under your spell your neck and your arm I’m trapped by your charm a thigh you brush up to mine … tingles run up my spine I’m addicted to
your hands your touch I need them so much I feel I can’t breathe the moment you leave I can’t wean myself from you there’s nothing I can do
I’m addicted to you … Ooh … Ooh … Ooh
Your head your face your warming embrace your hair and your eyes so bright and so wise I feel it down to the bone … I can’t leave you alone I’m addicted to
your hands your touch I need them so much I feel I can’t breathe the moment you leave I can’t wean myself from you … there’s nothing I can do I’m addicted to you
I’m addicted to you … Ooh … Ooh … Ooh
I’m addicted to you

Music and Medicine from Doxter S

Music and Medicine from Doxter S

Modern medicine has only been around since 1928. That’s when penicillin, the first true antibiotic, was discovered by Alexander Fleming, Professor of Bacteriology at St. Mary’s Hospital in London. Music has been around since early man first started banging animal bones on hollow logs. Medicine has continued to advance due to new technology. Of course, the  same must be said for modern music. Doxter S is a member of a growing society of musical scientists and doctors. We are hoping to bring more of what people need in their lives to feel good and live happier and healthier lives. So, here is a recent publication you can peruse that introduces some other members of this elite group, published in MedScape. I encourage anyone who loves music to read about these remarkable (and surprising) individuals.

I also recommend a remarkable true story about how music brought a man out of a coma: Waking the Spirit: A Musician’s Journey Healing Body, Mind, and Soul. This story is very inspiring to anyone living today with the converging interests in health, science, medicine, and music. The book explores the connections we all share with music, explaining why we need it, want it, and for some devoting their lives to it. I highly recommend you buy it and read it.

Doxter S writes new music targeting that part of the listener’s spirit that can use some uplifting, triggering what may best be described as enhancement of the immune system. Natural healing is what I’m talking about. Of course, humor is always the best medicine. Listen to Hair of the Dog for a good laugh, or Mr. ED if you’re a man over 50 and can relate. And here’s my guarantee: Music by Doxter S will never put you into a coma!

Diva Aria Mine by Doxter S Music Video

Diva Aria Mine by Doxter S Music Video

Doxter S has just released the official video for this song, entitled Diva Aria Mine, available on You Tube. Diva by Doxter S, an upbeat Hip Hop song, is entering new music territory. Doxter S created this original Hip Hop song, inspired by Piccolo Walzer, after making the following statement to a fellow musician: “Never argue with a Soprano”. So what is the connection with Diva by Doxter S? It turns out the word Soprano isn’t easy to use in the lyrics. So the original inspiration was transformed into  “Never argue with a Diva”, and the theme from the operatic song is carried into the story line. The style transformed to Hip Hop. Diva is already getting airplay on The Real92HipHop. The official video is engaging and entertaining.

Starting with a simple piano rendition of Piccolo Valzer, the piano is next backed by a synthesizer and the all male chorus sings Diva Aria Mine”. The verse, spoken by Doxter S, is backed by the Soprano voice haunting off stage:

Anything can happen when you’re walking with a Diva
Everybody gawking at her like the Queen of Sheba
Listen to these words of mine, I said from the beginning
Never argue with a Diva, ain’t no way of winning
Diva has a lovely voice, You think it comes from Heaven
Diva’s had a vocal coach since she was six or seven
When she sings she smiles and makes you feel you’re not a stranger
Listen to these words of mine, this Diva is no Angel

Then Diva sings her first solo:

When I’m walking alone
When everybody looks at me
They smile at me adoringly
Men are mine to command
And I have them all eating,
yes they are all eating out of my hand

The canyon lands of southwestern United States may be the most beautiful part of this continent. The Grand Canyon, Sedona, and Glen Canyon are in Arizona. Bryce Canyon and Zion Canyon are in Utah. They are visited by millions or tourists from all over the world every year. The ancestors of our Native Americans arrived thousands of years earlier. The Navajo and Hopi residents continue a tradtion of devotion and reverence to this wondrous landscape.
Canyons by Doxter S captures the spirit of this land and its people in a song based on the Native Flute. The melody uses a simple pentatonic scale in a minor key. It ended much too soon.
Canyons by Doxter S is hopeful but melancholy. There is mystery, wonderment, joy, and sadness. The canyon lands remains as a foundation for continuation and renewal. The song is both spiritual and uplifting. Just listen with your eyes shut and you can see Kokopelli playing to his Hoodoo audience.

Flower Girl – New Release by Doxter S

Flower Girl by Doxter S

Sometimes the inspiration for a song is a person, maybe a place, or a feeling, or perhapse a period in time. Flower Girl by Doxter S is all of these. The place is introduced in the first verse: “There is a town just south of Monterey”. Look at a map of the west coast of California and take a guess. The town has a long history going back centuries. The oldest Spanish Mission in North America is there. There is an artist colony. There was a famous Mayor. The person who is the subject of the song, “Flower Girl”, has come to this town from far away. Her mind is always far away as well. She may be a person born of a different era with different sensibilities. We learn that “Flower Girl” is “Stuck in a ripple of time” in pursuit of a lover.

There are many references to the ocean, ocean life (Sea Otters – who notoriously mate for life), and sailors (who notoriously don’t).
There are sailors out on the bay. A sailor wanders by the Flower Shop where she works. We just don’t know that “Flower Girl” is interested in a sailor. “Flower Girl” wants to be with someone who left her behind.
Flower Girl was written by Doxter S, sung by a female lead, and was produced at Crimson Studios in McLean, Virginia in 2017.

Lyrics:
  • You say you can’t live your life without me
  • You think that love will bring you ecstasy
  • You tell me you will be faithful to me
  • For a Million Years
  • I see your eyes always gazing around
  • For some new sweet thing that you think you’ve found
  • But your selection by nature was bound
  • By a Million Years
  • I don’t believe I can hold you above
  • I’m not that person that you’re speaking of
  • But if you wait for me I’ll be your love
  • In a Million Years

Merry Christmas All Around the World by Doxter S

Merry Christmas All Around the World by Doxter S

Christmas songs try to incorporate the spirit of the holiday. Many traditional songs are instrumentals.
Those with lyrics have been translated from the original language. They are recognizable and familiar.
Most popular Christmas songs in the United States are sung in English. People learn to sing them.
Merry Christmas All Around the World, by Doxter S, is sung in 25 different languages.
Doxter S wrote and recorded a version of this song in 2012 on a dare from one of his fans.
It took another 5 years to find someone else who could learn to sing this song properly.
This is supposed to be a children’s Christmas song. The lead and backing singers are a little bit older.
They share the same vocal range as many children, and often record voice-overs for children’s cartoons.
They probably don’t sound like children, but they can sing “Merry Christmas” in 25 different languages.
