Lyrics

Monday, I got a lot of trouble
Problems, they always seem to double
One day, I'm gonna make some money
Someday, I'm gonna take you honey
That's right, one day I'm gonna make some money
That's right, one day I'm gonna take you honey

 Monday, I got an occupation
One day, I need a real vacation
Someday, I'm gonna take my money
Somewhere, I'm gonna take you honey
That's right, One day I'll take a real vacation
That's right, Forget about my occupation

Last night, I dreamed that we were in a garden Somewhere.
It seemed like we were floating through the Thin air.
And we were laughing, smiling, singing
Dancing, all the bells were ringing.
We could hear the children's laughter
 We were happy ever after

That's right. It seemed like you and me are getting Younger.
We need to quench the thirst, control the Hunger.
We want to see the world around us
Sail the sea without a compass
Taste the life bestowed upon us
 Stay together Live forever

Monday, I start a long vacation
 Tuesday, forget my occupation
Wednesday, I'm gonna spend some money
Thursday, I'll spend it with you honey
Friday, we're gonna find an island
Monday, we're gonna start to live again

Monday, I'm gonna make you coffee
Tuesday, we're gonna go out walking
Wednesday, I'm gonna take you sailing
Thursday, we're gonna stay up talking
Friday, I'm gonna take you dancing

Monday, we're gonna start to live again
Start to live again Start to live again

Lyrics

 Every time I turn around
Everything’s turning upside down
Toys are flying in the air
Jackson the Dancing Bear

Jackson is a black Labrador
But he is so much more
Jackson’s a handful and a half
And he can make me laugh

Chase the Frisbee, catch the ball
Dragging his mattress down the hall
Rub my belly, scratch my ear
What an exhausting year

Jackson is such a funny pup
When is he growing up?
Tossing his toys into the air
Then there is Jackson’s hair

There’s a saying we all know
When we’ve drunk all night
Just drink the Hair of the Dog
Then you’ll feel alright

Eating breakfast all alone
I see a dog hair on my scone
In the kitchen on the stair
Everywhere there’s dog hair

We sweep the floors and vacuum too
But nothing seems to work
We give him baths and brush hit coat
Now one’s stuck in my throat

Jackson is a fur machine
Nothing ever seems to stay clean
Cleaning hair while Jackson plays
Now the maids want a raise

Just when I think the place is clean
He throws me for a loop
Ready to dine and then I find
Three dog hairs in my soup

There’s a saying we all know
When we’ve drunk all night
Just drink the Hair of the Dog
Then you’ll feel alright

Just drink the Hair of the Dog
My old friends would say
I’ve become a Dog Hair Fan
Drink them every day

Song From The Heart by Doxter S on Apple Music

Doxter S composes and performs melodic ballads and catchy pop tunes with simple, heartfelt and memorable lyrics. Listen to Song From The Heart by Doxter S on Apple Music.

Song From The Heart is just that – composed while living in relative solitude but longing to be together with his soul mate who is often thousands of miles away. The melody is soulful but eventually upbeat with a happy ending. Warning: Song From The Heart may bring tears to your eyes if you have ever been longing to be with the one you love.

Song From The Heart Lyrics

  I’ve been lonely so long
So I wrote down this song
 Only took me s while
Hope you like my new style

 Just acoustic guitar
 Strumming in every bar
Know it sounds kind of strange
Keeps the notes in my range

Hope you’re having fun in the Florida sun
When I’m feeling so blue I’ll be thinking of you
If I had the fare I’d be joining you there
In the Florida sun, Hope you’re having some fun

Wrote this song just for you
 But I haven’t a clue
Why I got you so mad
And it’s got me so sad

So I wrote you this song
 Wish you could sing along
To the end from the start
It’s a song from the heart

Hope you’re having fun in the Florida sun
When I’m feeling so blue I’ll be thinking of you
If I had the fare I’d be joining you there
In the Florida sun, Hope you’re having some fun

Thought I’d drop you a line
Tell you I was just fine
 Everything is the same
I got no one to blame

 Trying to stay in touch
‘Cause I miss you so much
You’ve been down there so long
So I wrote you this song

Hope you’re having fun in the Florida sun
When I’m feeling so blue I’ll be thinking of you
If I had the fare I’d be joining you there
In the Florida sun, Hope you’re having some fun

Got my song on the air
 They’re playing it everywhere
 Finally got my chance
 And I got an advance

So I booked me a flight
 It’s arriving tonight
 By the evening tide
I’ll be there by your side

We’ll be having fun in the Florida sun
I could never be blue long as I’m holding you
For the love we share I would go anywhere
In the Florida sun we’ll be having some fun

Hope you’re having fun in the Florida sun
When I’m feeling so blue I’ll be thinking of you
If I had the fare I’d be joining you there
In the Florida sun, Hope you’re having some fun

Canyons by Doxter S on Apple Music

Canyons by Doxter S on Apple Music

The canyon lands of southwestern United States may be the most beautiful part of this continent. The Grand Canyon, Sedona, and Glen Canyon are in Arizona. Bryce Canyon and Zion Canyon are in Utah. They are visited by millions or tourists from all over the world every year. The ancestors of our Native Americans arrived thousands of years earlier. The Navajo and Hopi residents continue a tradition of devotion and reverence to this wondrous landscape.
Canyons by Doxter S captures the spirit of this land and its people in a song based on the Native Flute. The melody uses a simple pentatonic scale in a minor key. The percussion is a Native Hand Drum. The female vocalist sings sweetly. The lyrics contrast a modern day romance with the centuries old story of the people inhabiting this spectacular place. The Hopi pray and dance for rain. Kokopelli plays his Magic Flute. The singer refers to her lover, once upon a time together hiking, rafting, and camping here. Then the flame went out. It ended much too soon.
Canyons by Doxter S is hopeful but melancholy. There is mystery, wonderment, joy, and sadness. The canyon lands remains as a foundation for continuation and renewal. The song is both spiritual and uplifting. Just listen with your eyes shut and you can see Kokopelli playing to his Hoodoo audience.

Squeeze by Doxter S on Apple Music

Squeeze by Doxter S on Apple Music

These love songs may not be appropriate for children. I don’t use explicit lyrics. Listen to “Squeeze” all the way through and you will get the idea. The hook (also the punch-line) is in the third verse. I find when I perform “Squeeze” the women in the audience get it during the second verse. The men don’t get it until the third verse. Squeeze by Doxter S is on Apple Music.

I got my inspiration for “Squeeze” from my wife. You men reading this won’t get my point until the third sentence. She and I practice oral hygiene differently. I follow the directions, so I’m always good to the very last drop. We share a lot of things but toothpaste isn’t one of them. I wrote “Squeeze” thinking  that a casual (or drunk) listener might just get the wrong idea what the song was about.

The cover art for “Squeeze” is inoffensive. “Ribeye“, on the other hand, is more risqué. This country-bluegrass love song was inspired by a full-figured woman at the dog park. She was speaking to her husband on her mobile phone. Her face lit up with a big smile when she proposed “Let’s Have Ribeye Tonight”. I couldn’t help thinking she was planning a romantic evening with him. My inspiration for the song was implanted and I went home to start composing music and writing lyrics. “Ribeye”  makes the point without explicit lyrics.

I needed an idea for a album including all my songs with these more adult themes (this album includes “Hair of the Dog” and “Mister ED”):  “Songs You Can(‘)t Sing to Your Children” (A compilation of Love Songs by Doxter S that are more appropriate for Clyde’s than Gymboree).
