This song started out as an instrumental Rondo of 8-bars. The complex melodies seemed to lend themselves as the basis for a holiday song.

I started with lyrics simply describing the familiar auditory sensation of an Ear Worm. Perhaps it’s just music playing in your head that you heard at the shopping mall. In my case the music was new and original, with yet to be defined lyrics. As I developed this theme I focused on Christmas time and holiday music.

The reference to the season being winter and the presence of music playing everywhere are subtle links to Christmas time.
