Nervous by Doxter S gets Airplay on WOS Radio

The #1 New & Noteworthy and Award Winning Women of Substance Music Podcast will be featuring Nervous by Doxter S on an episode released the week of January 7, 2019.  Nervous by Doxter S can be heard on an episode of our #1 Music Podcast on iTunes. Nervous by Doxter S is one of many original new songs getting airplay on various sites including WOS Radio and Spotify.

Nervous by Doxter S is one of the newest of 56 original songs produced at Crimson Studios. This pop style song could be sung acapella, however this production includes percussion, strings, and piano. There is asymmetry between the sequential verses and there is a substantial pre chorus. The instrumental backing for the chorus is minimal, as the lead and harmony together provide an orchestral presence. The chorus has a lively percussion accompaniment.

The story line of Nervous by Doxter S portrays a woman uncertain about her lover and their future together. She makes a reference that they are acting like spies. As is true for many other songs from Doxter S there is some gender ambiguity. We don’t really know who this song is for. For that matter, this song started out intended for a male lead, however it transformed into the female lead version presented here.

WOS Radio stated that that they would play this song (Nervous) starting 01/14/2019.  Here is the link so you can listen and subscribe, Rate & Review so we can continue to build our audience in anticipation of the show featuring your song: Nervous on WOS

New Release | Nice by Doxter S

Crimson Studios is proud to announce the new release of Nice by Doxter S. This delicate ballad with solo female vocalist (Sara) and classical guitar accompaniment will decompress and fulfill your soul.

Doxter S spent some time in September 2018 in Nice (pronounced like Niece in English) on the French Riviera. This large metropolitan city is the summer playground for the French. It’s more upscale neighbors Monte Carlo to the east and Cannes to the west are for aristocrats and sheikhs.

Not that the Porte de Nice doesn’t have it’s share of luxury yachts and millionaires. Bill Gates and Tina Turner live nearby. What Nice does have is a rich history and a charming old town (Vieux Nice) and lots of British and American expats.

Wandering down the narrow, cobblestone walkways one passes by shops and restaurants with outdoor seating. The open market area constantly transforms; farmers market, craft vendors, exotic spices, and multicolored sea salts (the fish market was recently moved to the port area for health reasons). Everything gets hosed down before lunchtime. The restaurants lining both sides of the wide pedestrian area take over competing sections for outdoor dining.

Without noting the time, the many church steeple bells start counting out the noon hour. High on the castle hill (now a park) a cannon is fired at exactly 12:00 sharp. Everyone is getting seated for déjeuner, the most important meal of the day. The banks have closed. Time to dine on food and wine.

Nice was home to some very famous French painters, including Renoir and Matisse. There is a Chagall museum in the northern part of Nice. They all came to enjoy the sea air, the clear Mediterranean waters, and most of all the light and color of this place. The sky and the sea were so blue they gave it the name Côte d’Azur.

Doxter S is Back on Top

2019 may be the best year yet for Doxter S Music. ReverbNation just listed Doxter S as #1 Locally, #1 Regionally, #12 Nationally and #15 Globally! This great news is coming on the heels of a Gold Award in the R&B/HipHop/Urban Category for Bizness by Doxter S from MASC 35.

Is this some coincidence? Probably not. Doxter S Music just published Stay by Doxter S. Stay is the 57th original song by the Not Quite Famous Singer/Songwriter creating original music from McLean, Virginia.

Doxter S finished 2018 with Fa La La. This is a Naughty Christmas Song. You that is still getting some airplay on some internet stations. All original songs by Doxter S from Crimson Studios are available on Spotify for streaming anytime.

New Release | Stay by Doxter S

Crimson Studios is proud to announce a New Release | Stay by Doxter S. This is the 57th original song written by Doxter S and produced at Crimson Studios in McLean, Virginia.

This beautiful love song in G-Major can be performed by either female or male lead. A piano provides the foundation. The cello and contrabass alternate legato and pizzicato. There is syncopation between the instrument voices.

The instrumental intro, with piano, cello, and contrabass, is happy. The melody for the first and second verse, sung by Sara, is plaintive. Each verse has a tension building bridge. The second verse follows the first bridge immediately. (The original score separated them with a repeat of the intro).

The chorus is commanding, strong, with a positive vibe. The use of the B-Major in a single phrase of the chorus adds unexpected urgency to the lyrics. (This production was transposed to D-Major, so F-Major provides the tension).

The first and second chorus are separated by a vocalized version of the intro melody. This is again upbeat, happy. The second chorus has different lyrics. Following the second chorus is a repeat of the instrumental intro. The song ends with a repeat of the first chorus on a happy note.

Bizness by Doxter S Wins Gold MASC 35

Bizness by Doxter S Wins the Gold Award for the R&B/Hip-Hop/Urban Category in the 35th Annual Mid-Atlantic Song Contest sponsored by the Songwriters’ Association of Washington.

This is the 2nd award for a song by Doxter S. Sleep by Doxter S was a finalist it the 33rd Annual Mid-Atlantic Song Contest.

Jay Keating, SAW President and 2018 MASC Director, wrote the following:

Congratulations!

The judges have made their selections for the 35th Annual Mid-Atlantic Song Contest sponsored by the Songwriters’ Association of Washington. I am happy to inform you that your songs received the following awards this year:

Bizness was chosen for the Gold award for the R&B/Hip Hop/Urban category

Diva was chosen for the Honorable Mention award for the R&B/Hip Hop/Urban category

I can assure you the decisions were not easy and the competition from your peers made this decision harder than you know. For that, it should be treasured as sweetly won.

I can also promise you that more than 70 judges, including 8 Grammy winners, a VP at Universal Records, published working songwriters and others of note, pored over these songs in rounds of judging. You were heard and listened to. The number of good songs I heard that didn’t make the cut astonished me. I listened to every song this year and it gave me a lot of hope for songwriting and for the present and future of our mutual avocation.

The real winner in this contest is songwriting. Each of you who dedicates the time and energy into learning the craft, discovering the art and raising the visibility of original music has a part in making MASC, SAW, songwriting, music and yourself richer and better. For that we are grateful.

We hope you can come receive your award in person at the 35th SAW MASC Gala, on Sunday, Jan 20th at Gypsy Sally’s in Georgetown. There is limited seating to this popular event so please be sure to reserve a seat early for you and any guests through the SAW website. It will be a night to remember.

We are also putting together an attempt to live stream the event. Please let us know if you would want to watch online in case you can’t come.

And here is our chorus. Keep writing. As good as your work was this year, there are always better songs on the horizon and in you. One of the things that all our winners have in common is that they keep trying. They write, go to toolbox, song circle and workshop sessions. They work at the craft and strive towards the art.

The complete list of winners will be available soon on our website.
