Lyrics

You meet me at my garden gate
Wonder why I was so late
Had to dry my tears
Don't think that I was crying

I know some women can be strong
Take whatever comes along
If I spoke like that
You'd know that I was lying

We tried to talk about it
Always seemed to end with shouting
We can't forgive ourselves for
Indecision, always doubting

Your visit comes as no surprise
I can see it in your eyes
That you just stopped by to
Tell me you are leaving

I knew one day you'd want to go
Knew how I would miss you so
I prepared myself but
Seeing is believing

We had our share of sorrow
Just like modern day romances
I see a new tomorrow
I believe in second chances

Stay with me, don't leave please
Stay with me, what's in your
Heart is all that matters, Baby
Can't you see?

Stay with me and hold me
Tenderly and I will smile and dry my tears
If you just stay

I believe there are second chances
You and me, Modern day romances
People can discover
When they love eachother

Stay with me, why don't you
Stay with me, What is it
Out there that would take you far away from me?

Baby we were happy
Can't you see, so drop that
Bag and close the door will you just stay

Stay with me, don't leave please
Stay with me, what's in your
Heart is all that matters, Baby
Can't you see?

Stay with me and hold me
Tenderly and I will smile and dry my tears
If you just stay

Lyrics

Lived so long, seen it all, Dorian, you don't age

The first time he walked into the place
Was a different man, a different face
People drifting in people drifting out then he heard the sound of a woman shout
Just exactly like in that dream he had that has set the music on fire

The next thing he knew he’s on the stage
With a different girl, a different age
Dancing to the rhythm all syncopating a pounding beat was intoxicating
He felt his heart was alive again it was burning with desire

She had fiery eyes and glowing face
They we're in a passionate embrace
He could smell the scent of her sweet perfume as they danced in circles all around the room
There was music playing inside his head and his mind was all in a daze

They were headed through an open door
Walked into a room he’d seen before
There were velvet curtains all in a line flowing burgundy like a Bordeaux wine
Then they started running with hand in hand through a never ending maze

Lived so long, seen it all, Dorian, you don't age
Hear my song, Dorian, hear the words of the Sage

Now they’re in the palace at Versailles
In a ballroom lined with mirrored tile
Marie Antoinette and The Brothers Grim as Rasputin laughed with his wicked grin
As the music waned and the pictured face Dorian is fading to grey

And he wondered if it ends this way in a
Different place on a different day there was
More to see there was more to do only time would tell change his point of view
See it's relative if you make it last Dorian was fading fast

Dorian turning grey as your mind fades away
Hear my song let it play won't be long fades away
Won't be long fades away

Diva by Doxter S on VaMo Radio

Diva by Doxter S on VaMo Radio

Diva by Doxter S, an upbeat Hip Hop song, is entering new music territory. Doxter S created this original Hip Hop song, inspired by Piccolo Walzer, after making the following statement to a fellow musician: “Never argue with a Soprano”. The Video version is now on VaMo Radio.

Piccolo Valzer (little waltz) was the original title for Giacomo Puccini’s Musetta’s Waltz. More popularly known today as Quando m’en vo’ soletta, it may be the most memorable music from Puccini’s 19th century opera La Bohème. So what is the connection with Diva by Doxter S? It turns out the word Soprano isn’t easy to use in the lyrics. So the original inspiration was transformed into  “Never argue with a Diva”, and the theme from the operatic song is carried into the story line. The style transformed to Hip Hop.

Starting with a simple piano rendition of Piccolo Valzer, the piano is next backed by a synthesizer and the all male chorus sings Diva Aria Mine”. The verse, spoken by Doxter S, is backed by the Soprano voice haunting off stage:

Anything can happen when you’re walking with a Diva
Everybody gawking at her like the Queen of Sheba
Listen to these words of mine, I said from the beginning
Never argue with a Diva, ain’t no way of winning
Diva has a lovely voice, You think it comes from Heaven
Diva’s had a vocal coach since she was six or seven
When she sings she smiles and makes you feel you’re not a stranger
Listen to these words of mine, this Diva is no Angel

Then Diva sings her first solo:

When I’m walking alone
When everybody looks at me
They smile at me adoringly
Men are mine to command
And I have them all eating,
yes they are all eating out of my hand

Dorian by Doxter S is more Complex

Dorian by Doxter S is more complex than the version available on Spotify. That version of Dorian by Doxter S was recorded with a Female Lead. The vocalist is reminiscent of Grace Slick, with a powerful presentation.

Another version of Dorian by Doxter S is more complex. One version was recorded with a Male Lead. The third version is a Duet, a mix with both vocalists alternating verse and joining in the chorus. These alternate versions are available for streaming exclusively on Doxter-S.com.

Oscar Wilde, the nineteenth century Irish romantic poet and playwright, is probably most famous for his novel “The Picture of Dorian Gray”. The Faustian story line relates to a full length portrait of the eponymous Dorian who makes a wish that his portrait would age instead of himself.

Dorian by Doxter S is a fantastical interpretation in music of this Gothic theme. Dorian appears at various times and places chasing after a dream-like companion. The mood is mysterious, the music intoxicating, and at the end Dorian and the music fades away.

Lyrics

Baby, Baby, OoohBaby, Baby, OoohBaby, Baby

  • One day you will be famous
  • They’ll roll out the red carpet
  • And everyone will see your name in lights
  • Will that satisfy you?
  • Replace what love denied you
  • And make up for those cold December nights
  • It’s a long hard road we travel, you and me
  • And it’s easy to forget our history
  • There was once a time we made some harmony
  • And we ended every night I ecstasy
  • There were Honky-Tonks and nightclubs on the way
  • From Atlanta to Chicago and L.A.
  • Our duet was for the night, but then one day
  • I was on my knees just begging you to stay
  • You wanted to be famous
  • You had to make some changes
  • But was it your career you’re speaking of
  • There is no denying
  • I failed at satisfying
  • And somewhere on the road I lost your love
  • You made it, now you’re famous
  • They rolled out the red carpet
  • And everyone can see your name in lights
  • Does it satisfy you?
  • Replace the love denied you
  • And make up for those cold December nights
  • Now you’re famous
  • You’re so famous
  • So damn famous
