Form a Line by Doxter S on Apple Music

Form a Line by Doxter S on Apple Music

This upbeat song has more energy and less sweetness (than my last wedding song) and will get everyone crowding the dance floor dancing vigorously singing and shouting along with the band. Listen here:

I wrote a song for a wedding this year [Everywhere by Doxter S] that was light and airy and sweet. I imagined the young newlyweds dancing to it. [on another planet]. The real wedding dances were very different and everyone was crowding the dance floor. They all knew the melodies and lyrics and sang along while dancing vigorously. I was impressed that a wedding song needs to have more energy, less sweetness, a simpler melody, and lyrics everyone would sing. After finishing this song I needed a title. I remembered John Travolta as the Angel Michael (1996) saying that when he first came to earth everyone was just milling around. Michael told them to “Form a Line”.

Da Boom by Doxter S on Apple Music

Da Boom by Doxter S on Apple Music

We are currently experiencing a revival of retro-style musical productions for theater and cinema. Some examples on Broadway are Chicago, Wicked, and Pretty Woman. On the big screen we saw The Entertainer, La La Land, and The Greatest Showman. This New Release, Da Boom by Doxter S, captures in music the rhythm and excitement of a big dance number. The descriptive lyrics take the listener step by step through a complete dance routine. You can’t resist the beat, you must pick up your feet, and dance the night away, until the day breaks Baby! Listen to Da Boom by Doxter S on Apple Music.
Lyrics

Move to the beat, dancing to Da Boom, and swing it!

Shuffle your feet, prance around the room

Now let your arms do the work, swimming through the air

Then make your whole body jerk, shimmy everywhere

And when the beat gets fat, tip your hat, bow to the applause

Ba Da Boom

Stretch out a leg, let it touch the floor, then tap it

Don’t make it vague, let it tap some more

Rise up from down on your knees, spinning on your feet

Then put your hands in the air, waving to the beat

Now throw your head way back, make a laugh, dance arround the room

Ba Da Boom

Ba Da Boom, you get into the groove

The music fills the room, so let your body move

You can’t resist the beat, you must pick up your feet

And dance the night away, until the day breaks Baby

Ba Da Boom will change your attitude

It doesn’t matter whom, it puts you in the mood

With everyone you meet, you just pick up your feet

And dance the night away, come what may

Dancing to Da Boom

Ba Da Boom

Reach out a hand, any one will do, then snap it

At your command, dancing to Da Boom

Now spin around like a top, synchronize your move

The steady beat doesn’t stop, staying in the groove

Just like a chorus line, marking time, makes you want to shout

Ba Da Boom

Addicted by Doxter S on Apple Music

Addicted by Doxter S on Apple Music

Addicted by Doxter S was a new release in April 2018. This uptempo song has an electro-island beat and is sung with great passion by a female lead vocalist with backing harmony.  The melody and Hip Hop style beat are very catchy and the lyrics are inspired by popular culture. The mood is very positive. The lyrics are provided below:

Addicted by Doxter S
I’m addicted to you … Ooh … Ooh … Ooh
Tell me why, tell me why I can’t ignore you, be alone at night, be without you
Now I find, I must try to steal away time, always on my mind, you have made me blind
Your laugh your smile I linger a while, your lips and your voice they leave me no choice
I’m trapped by you, can’t you see … That’s what you did to me I’m addicted to
your hands your touch I need them so much I feel I can’t breathe the moment you leave I can’t wean myself from you … there’s nothing I can do
I’m addicted to you … Ooh … Ooh … Ooh
You are like, you are like that magic potion, Number Nine of Love, and emotion
Even now, I know better than to follow, I have lost my will, I must have my fill
Your clothes your smell I’m under your spell your neck and your arm I’m trapped by your charm a thigh you brush up to mine … tingles run up my spine I’m addicted to
your hands your touch I need them so much I feel I can’t breathe the moment you leave I can’t wean myself from you there’s nothing I can do
I’m addicted to you … Ooh … Ooh … Ooh
Your head your face your warming embrace your hair and your eyes so bright and so wise I feel it down to the bone … I can’t leave you alone I’m addicted to
your hands your touch I need them so much I feel I can’t breathe the moment you leave I can’t wean myself from you … there’s nothing I can do I’m addicted to you
I’m addicted to you … Ooh … Ooh … Ooh
I’m addicted to you

Nervous by Doxter S on Apple Music

Nervous by Doxter S on Apple Music

Nervous by Doxter S is one of 73 original songs produced at Crimson Studios. This pop style song could be sung acapella, however this production includes percussion, strings, and piano. There is asymmetry between the sequential verses and there is a substantial pre chorus. The instrumental backing for the chorus is minimal, as the lead and harmony together provide an orchestral presence. The chorus has a lively percussion accompaniment.
The story line of Nervous by Doxter S portrays a woman uncertain about her lover and their future together. She makes a reference that they are acting like spies. As is true for many other songs from Doxter S there is some gender ambiguity as we don’t really know who this song is for. For that matter, this song started out intended for a male lead, however it transformed into the female lead version presented here.

You make me nervous
You make me nervous
Keep your emotions hidden well
Under the surface
You get me rattled
Tongue tied and tattered
Then you just walk away like
None of it mattered
I feel like I’ve lost control
I’m stuck at the starting gate
Asking for help I say to myself
“Don’t hesitate, it’s getting late”
I’m running on your command
In search of some happiness
Wasting away, I spend every day
You know just which buttons to press
Life keeps on changing
My thoughts rearranging
I need some restraining
My feet on the ground
Nothing is certain
I draw back the curtain
Revealing the hurt and
The peace I have found
You keep on trying
To get me smiling
I haven’t smiled in many years
There’s no denying
You makes me crazy
Everything’s hazy
I should have left by now but
I’ve gotten lazy
I’ve lost my identity
I have nothing left to steal
Acting like spies I look in your eyes
Trying to feel anything real
I’m now starting to believe
My life is about to change
What should I do, I’m thinking it through
Things to arrange, Feeling so strange

Dancers by Doxter S on Apple Music

Dancers by Doxter S on Apple Music

Dancers by Doxter S is a dance fantasy with a latin beat. This song evokes the nightlife in Buenos Aires, Argentina and the tango dancing that originated there.

Traveling through the mountains in western Virginia we were listening to local college radio from UVA. As we crossed to the western slope the station changed to a latin program from West Virginia entirely in Spanish. That was the inspiration for this song. Initially I wrote something more humorous with a Mariachi style. I placed that aside and reconfigured the melody into a Tango style instead. The lyrics and title are changed as well.

The singer recalls her experience as a tourist and the lasting impression that stays with her. She carries in her memory the dancers that so impressed on her the beauty and grace of the Tango. She dreams of herself becoming a tango dancer in Buenos Aires.

Dancers by Doxter S includes the traditional instruments used for the tango. The familiar Bandoneon is an essential component, along with latin percussion using conga, wood blocks, and tambourine. A cello and acoustic bass complete the instrumental support for this tango dance.

Lyrics

Instrumental Intro

It was not many years ago
I flew away to Argentina
In Buenos Aires for the Summer
I found an open air Cantina
I tasted wine and sampled Tapas
The cobbled streets were filled with couples

I watched the young tango dancers perform in the square
They moved with beauty and grace they seemed lighter than air

Instrumental Break

One special dancer caught my fancy
She was a raven haired romantic
Her flashing eyes and pouting boca
Made every movement look dramatic
Her partner held her in possession
They danced together with expression

I felt the music they danced to was played just for me
Their every movement was perfectly timed to the beat

Long Instrumental Break

I see that dancer when I'm dreaming
And how I wish that I could be her
When I was younger I was wiser
I saw that beauty was inside her
The music carries like a whisper
I dream that I am dancing with her

Next to a garden with flowers that glow in the light
I would be dancing for hours the moon shining bright

Instrumental Break

Play the music that they dance to just for me

Instrumental Break

It seems so many years ago
I flew away to Argentina
In Buenos Aires for the Summer
I found a open air Cantina
I tasted wine and sampled Tapas
The cobbled streets were filled with couples

I was a young tango dancer alone in the square
I moved with beauty and grace I was lighter than air

Instrumental

Buenos Aires Argentina in my dreams
I still dream I’m dancing tango in the night

Lyrics

Hangin' round the corner when she caught my eye
Such a lovely vision for a lonely guy
Well she caught my eye, tellin' you no lie
Was a lonely guy till she walked on by
She was swinging like a school girl
That's what caught my eye, my oh my!

I could see her coming from around the block
I just started humming as I watched her walk
Watched her do her thing, she could really swing
She walked up to me and I start to sing
She was swinging like a school girl
Made me start to sing, do my thing

Swing baby swing, swing baby Swing, swing baby swing, baby Swing, swing baby swing

I remember thinking I should take a chance
With this lovely lady in this circumstance
I gave her a glance, then I took my chance
Asked her out with me, asked her out to dance
She was swinging like a school girl
Made me take a chance, out to dance

Swing baby swing, swing baby Swing, swing baby swing, baby Swing, swing baby swingG

I knew better than to let her pull my string
I lose all composure when she does her thing
When she starts to swing, forget everything
I do anything, buy her diamond ring
She was swinging like a school girl
Made me buy her bling, diamond ring

Swing baby swing, swing baby
Swing, swing baby swing, baby
Swing, swing baby swing
Swing baby swing, swing baby
Swing, swing baby swing, baby
Swing, swing baby swing

Lyrics

Do what you want to, you don’t need to know where to start
Don’t ask for directions, you just need to follow your heart
Forget what they told you, and don’t get confused by The Man
Just take my advice ’cause I know that you’re part of the plan
Everything’s easy when you get inspired, just follow your dreams no permission required
It’s your own Bizness, you just gotta do what you please
As God is my witness, your life’s gonna feel like a breeze
Just ask for forgiveness, whenever you think you might fall
Then do what you want to it’s nobody’s Bizness at all
Everyday people just trying to make their own way
Working three jobs they got too many bills left to pay
Late in the evening they gather around for a meal
Singing and dancing they’re trying to keep it all real
Everyone’s waiting for when the week ends
Working to live life with family and friends
(Chorus)
(Spoken)
The doctor, the Rabbi, the Priest and the lawyer
They give you advice but they tend to annoy you
The butcher, the baker, the lowly brick layer
We all become equal whether sooner or later
The government worker who’s taking the census
We must forgive those who may trespass against us
Do unto others as you’d have them do unto you
A Sunday School lesson I’ve found that it seems to be true
Just take it easy because at the end of the day
Your life will be judged by the things that you do and you say
Just live your life and treat others with care
Follow your heart you can live anywhere
It’s your own Bizness you just gotta do what you please
As God is my witness your life’s gonna feel like a breeze
Just ask for forgiveness whenever you stumble
Redemption is endless you must remain humble
Then do what you want to it’s nobody’s Bizness at all
